Hi amir i noticed in thevideo that burnout blocks land very close to the net and its advertised as good for making flat balls but you claim that is as grippy as 802. Grippy abd flatter balls than 802 how is the disturbing effect of burnout?the pimple space is more separated than grippy sp. I thought flat balls= less grip

Regards

you are referring to the burnout promotional video? burnout probably is more grippy than 802..it is easier to loop with burnout and create spin. the disturbing effect of 802 is higher. i would say burnout is a very good short pimple for attacking but also has great control, but less disruptive effect than for e.g 802, 802 creates flatter balls, but 802 is harder to control

What do you recomend for little less spin flatter blocking than 802? Heard about breakout is not durable

Hi there Amir. Do you have any info on the new DMS rubbers?

Hellcat (SP)
Rebellion (LP)
Diabolic (Anti)

To me Diabolic sounds like a rubbere even more nasty than Transformer  .

i`m afraid i dont have permission to say anything about the other rubbers, but diabolic isnt coming out anytime soon.

Thanks for sharing! Very nice game!

Interesting to see how often you use the anti for serving, that is something new (at least the amount of anti-serves). I need to work on that, seem very efficient against some players.

When you do that serve, do you make flat contact with the ball or a movement that with normal rubber would cause top spin or back spin? It looks like you make a slight top spin motion. I find it rather difficult to make that serve fast AND low. Any tips?

the serve is pure flat contact, no motion is added to create spin. the secret is timing. the idea is to hit the ball in the lowest moment possible, this way it will cross the net as low as possible..its entirely "dead" and then falls off the opponents racket if there is no strong upward motion.

Watching the videos more or less confirms what I've been thinking for some time. This is a fantastic slick anti player, probably top 5 and at least top 10 slick anti player in the world. However even with someone as good as this there are still way more unforced errors than with ox pips and regular anti.

Over the years there are discussions about the best pips and it usually comes down to this: the best pips for you are the ones with which you make the smallest amount of unforced errors.

Therefore I think for most players slick/frictionless anti is not a good alternative for ox pips. Still it's interesting to see what will come after the transformer anti.

so,

i guess i must practice twiddling while serving now...

that is really nasty serve AA...i have perfected the same, but with backside... definitely more nasty when served with anti...

on a side note AA, when i come to camp in July i can teach you forehand spin if you teach me some anti tricks  jk
