Anyone know what equipment he is using? I have heard he uses SP on the bh, but not sure of this. Some of those sidespin chops would confirm this though.

Playing penhold shortpipper Wang Zeng Yi.

And here is a very nice match against Dimitri Ovcharov.

And another one against Zoltan Fejer-Konnerth

Wang Xi is very good and absolutely enjoyable to watch. According to a Chinese poster on YouTube, he is indeed Chinese, but is not playing any ITTF tournaments so he has no ranking. He was apparently employed by the womens national team to help them out with tactics against defenders before moving to Germany this year. He plays in the German league for Fulda alongside Waldner.

He uses a Tenergy 2.1mm on FH and a Curl P1R 1.2mm on BH. The blade seems to be a version of the Joo Se Hyuk, all according to a German forum.

Here's another one. Double-click on the video to open it in YouTube so you can choose HQ. Normal quality is pretty bad, IMHO.

Wang Xi playing Tiago Apolonia

Some excellent points, one favourite is the one starting at 0.25. :D
Comes with a soundtrack though...

It doesn't happen too often that a modern defender beats Timo Boll, but it happened last week as Wang Xi made two spectacular comebacks to win 3-0. Xi, who is 22-3 in the Bundesliga this year, may currently be the best modern defender in the world.

Complete match: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TNXCAK4I

Boll seems to be ill or injured in this video : he almost doesn't move, he's very static, he always uses is BH, that's not the Boll we know. :? If he has been at his best, Wang Xi would have much more difficulties to beat him.
