agree with Kees. One of the good things about the kind of sp she uses is is hitting or rolling underspin. Pushing against long no spin serves could be because the roll would be weak. I keep trying it then the server hits hard to my backhand, if I 'm not back in position quickly enough I then send a weak block back for the opponent to kill. It is a problem knowing what to do with long low no spin serves to the fh

Assuming your opponent serves from his backhand corner (down the line), with your DHS 651 on the FH you could flick those serves diagonally, cutting the opponent's fh sideline as close to the net as you can. Don't wait for the ball, take it as soon as you can. You need little speed for this stroke (the less the better), and the 651 should be grippy and precise enough to do it (with a vertical bat). It is very hard for the opponent to attack your BH returning this ball - if he gets to it.
If he serves from his FH corner, of course wait for the ball a little bit and hit it flat down the line, not too hard though. The 651 won't make spin if you hit flat (and doesn't need it to grab the ball), so let your opponent deal with a dead, dropping ball...
Rolling with the 651 you will make very little spin; it is better to reserve the roll for returning backspin, especially as the 651 will flick or hit very low balls over the net if you contact them on the rise.

Thanks Kees I'll try that. I've been using Express Ultra for a coupla years and only just gone back to 651, so I've got into very bad habits with the joola, not really getting the ball into the pips enough for long and short no spin serves with the 651

If the 651 doesn't work anymore for you at all, you might consider using Friendship 802-1 instead. About as disruptive as 651 (but not quite) and a little faster (you could get the sponge a bit thinner to make it the same speed); spin is only made with the tips of the pips with this rubber; easy to play with and very effective.

thanks Kees I'll give that a go later. i used to be able to handle 651 so I think I should be ok, just need to adjust my strokes.

I guess she wasn't lying. She's doing great at the Czech open with the new ball. Just beat the #2 seed, Ying Han (ironically from Germany) rather handily. She plays Misaki Morizono in the round of 16.

Big Up for Amelie.

What a Style she won in doppel Hungarian. And she is playing her best since mid 2014.
Her wood looks to have changed and also the trajectory is more flat.

Anybody knows what she is using currently ?
