In Czech Open she might be facing Viktoria Pavlovich in second round. That could be interesting... Any idea if Amy is good against defence?

At ITTF level I don't think she's ever beaten even one good defender. Usually gets slaughtered in fact.

Lost to Tatyana Bilenko (4-2), Park Mi Young (4-0), Li Qian (4-0), Kim Kyung Ah (4-1), Li Xue (4-1), Seo Hyowon (4-1), usually lost to Irene Ivancan in Germany, etc. Never played Pavlovich as far as I know.

Watching how fast her forehand is/can be, I was wondering why she doesn't use it against defenders all the time. True, it is a different stroke against backspin, but she has the speed of hand, certainly the touch, so she should be abe to do it well; and I heard she is using SP now on het FH, which makes it even easier to do. Also, she never or rarely attacks backspin with her anti in any other way than pushing - why doesn't she hit with it? Is this kind of shot too risky with slick anti? I've never played with it, so I don't know. I would think there'd be a good reason, likely a tactical one, and I would love to know bout it...

Kees, she has always used sp (diamant, leopard etc), like you I've never understood why she doesn't attack defenders more

She dont attack more because she is more defensive oriented, like PushBlocker, he like to cover the entire table with his bh...
Its something natural, like some people attack everything even when the ball is above the net , and some never attack even when theres a high ball...

That may be, but on her level as a pro player she should have effective tactics against every kind of opponent and so far her tactics against defenders don't work. As she does have the equipment that fits a different type of tactics, there should be a better reason for her not to attack defenders - in my opinion.

If anyone has any specific questions, I'll be happy to pass them onto her. She's always been more than willing to answer our questions. ;)

IDk but we have some attackers at pro level who dont know how to play defenders and keep with the wrong tatics all the match...
see by this side, to have a defender need to have an attacker, she trys only to defend, and let that function to the other player hahahha
