Very active style. There's not many who can get away with just blocking it back at that level.

my back is still ok :)
i am very tall and i can´t see another way to play my special style.

i am surprised how many players in this community are playing the grass d-tecs.
my customers (i work at contra tischtennis service gmbh) are prefering other long pips rubbers. they say that the d-tecs is too difficult to play (too fast).

i have also played dr. neubauer A-B-S (i don´t like anti spin @ all), ttmaster fireproof II (another good rubber from tt-master), punto (i don´t like this rubber, too fast for me), tsp curl p-h (great rubber).

in this week i will play with the d-tecs on a butterfly cutlass.
but i think in the following competitions i will play again with my nittaku shake defence.

my current fh-rubber is the butterfly challenger attack.
and i will play with the flarestorm, when this rubber is on stock.

sorry for my bad english skills. i am trying to improve them :)

Hi Pascal,

Thank you for joining the forum. A lot of former frictionless pimple players are members here, and we admire players who can block at the table at a high level. The video above is very impressive in the way you handle both the long and the short pips. I hope tt-total.tv will present more of your matches.

Hi Pascal you show good fighting spirit (thats why you won in my opinion) I like how you use your backhand to create problems for your opposition even though it pops up at times the amount of spin does vary so you make the other player unsure

however you did miss your forhand when the ball droped lower down and the chance of it hitting the table was reduced but when you got to the top of the bounce you got a lot more forehand winners and really came back (good on you)

Welcome to the forum Pascal!!!

Your English is very good, don't be so hard on yourself! Of course we'd be very happy for you to practice your English here!

It would be great to hear a little more about those rubbers that you've mentioned. I found the Punto slow on low impact, but against fast loops it does come off quite a bit fast, but with low trajectory and decent reversal. I have not yet tried the Fireproof II or P-H, but have the sheet ready to put on my bat

Yes that is true about the Pento... It does indeed feel very slow on a bounce test and on low impact strokes, but it's not so slow again fast loops, which is what I assume Pascal is referring to, right?

glad your back is ok!

I think dtecs will be faster than you are used to for over the table. I'm using it slightly further back than you are, I do block over the table, but I'm looking to block just before the high point. It has a chop block that is very impressive though.

Post subject:  Re: Pascal Tröger - shortpips FH, long pips BH

hey everybody! i have read all your questions and i will try to explain them.
sometimes it´s difficult in english....

i have practised with the punto only one time.
and only for 10 minutes (i haven´t got so much time for all these rubbers, i need to practise for myself too)
i did chop with this rubber near the table and to me it feels very fast.
i have played this pimple on BTY matushita pro model, which was my favorite blade for 3 years in the past.
and after this i gave this rubber to a customer.
i am often hearing, that my customers / friends have a completely different oppinion to some rubbers. so i think that it´s very impossible to talk about the results.

in my oppinion the fireproof II ist the slowest rubber at the moment.

the curl p-h works very good on balsa blades. i had the tsp 3,5 and 2,5.
but it is not so easy to handle like some other rubbers.

the a-b-s is the best anti i have played from dr. neubauer. very slowly and you can give a little bit backspin. one reason that i don´t prefer anti spin is the missing backspin. i have also big problems to have a good feeling with anti. and also my blade ist too weighty (right word?). i have played the a-b-s on the dr. neubauer kung fu.

i think that the future of rubbers will be made in germany. the d-tecs is just the beginning. in the near future i will get the andro chaos which will be near the d-tecs (also from esn). these rubbers are difficult to handle, but very effective.

in the next weeks i will play with the butterfly cutlass. it is a little bit faster than my nittaku shake defence.
and i hope that for my fh the bty flarestorm will arrive.

about the match:

this match against smit was one of the badest at the whole last year.
in the other match in ´08 i have beaten him 3:0 and had no problems.
i don´t know why but on sundays i am playing very week.
i don´t think that there won´t be so much new videos from me.
but i will try to upload the videos, which are here on dvd at my home.
there are any matches with the d-tecs and with the tt-master swing back IF.

about practising:

i am practising at the current season 1-4 times a week for 1,5 hours.
the most time i am playing matches. i think that this is for choppers very important (more important than for OFF players)
for my bh it is very important to have a good eye for the spin of my opponent
and it is very important to move fast (i know that my movement isn´t so good :-))

Ok, i hope i have answered all your questions and that you can understand my english.
if ou have further questions: ask, ask, ask :)

Hi Pascal,

That was a great post!

I was wondering if you use d.tecs in red or black and if you find much difference between the colors?

Do you reduce the size of your Shake Defense? This blade is huge!

Also do you think the Curl P-H would be good with the Dr. Neubauer Fire Wall Plus? And what are the strongest shots to play with the P-H?

Hi!

In the past i have used the black one. And now i am using a D-Tecs in red.
I can´t feel any important difference. The red one is a little bit faster.

The P-H should work on a firewall blade.
The best wheapon with this rubber was chopping near the table.
