I wish we could get an interview with him. Iceman, do you think you could connect with him through your friend?

Ice, you might want to create new topics for both the Huzjak videos and the Chtchetinine interview. That way it will have more attention from the other OOAK members.

More video of history's greatest athlete...

He handles him easily, but some things...

2:35 he does an aggressive pips push to his opponents backhand. This is my favorite tactic with P-1R that I miss with DG OX.

3:45 FH chop clips the net, but watch the residual spin ..yikes!

13:48 serves underspin, opponent pushes, he pushes with LP, lots of wrist and angle, opponent nets the ball.

And there you have it again... How does he do that? Was there a plan of getting him interviewed?

I would love to do so, but don't know how to contact him...

I don't think the opponent pushes - he lifts it, generating slight topspin?

out of interest - do you think that the ball hits the opponent's chin at 7:20 while he is defending in this point?

Yes, looks like it to me as well... but it could be a glitch in the video.

If the ball hits Valuch's chin, it would be faulted by the umpire. So glitch.

agreed, I think that it's just the perspective of the camera...it's coming at the camera for a bit which happens to be at the level of his chin...

As for the lift vs. push stroke, I think with that stroke and the way it looks, you are part right about it being bumped-lifted, but the resulting ball is probably still slight under or dead. As such, generating enough under to garner a net a ball with LPs is still quite impressive.

You are right, he lifted the ball turning backpin into topspin, so Chtchetinine "chopped" it with good backspin (look at te trajectory of both pushes, they don't come out and travel straight frome the paddles...).
But apart from this case, he often makes good backpin vs backspin with pimples. With good "wristy" soft action it is possible to do so, in training i often manage to do it even with less sponge, but it's very difficult so in matches it happens a lot less  A lot of times when i try to do it however, i fail to make the backspin but the opponent thinks i did it (because of trajectory of the ball and angle of the ball coming out from the pimples) so he sends the ball long/high
Creating heavy backspin is really hard, but if it's decent it's enough because the aim is not to overwhelm the opponent with spin, but to surprise him with the variation...
