That was a great game. Thanks for posting. Wow! Losing after 10-6 in game two and 10-9 in game three was painful to watch, but great playing by John.

I'm getting up this old thread because much of what John does is what I am trying to implement in my game all around....

I really appreciate his style as a blocker / chop blocker because he is very active in his strokes and very aggressive with his forehand. It's actually very aesthetically pleasing to watch.

John, if you are still on the forums do you coach at all?

After Cary Cup, can not play at 2250+ level anymore.
1. Too old to handle teenager kids. At least, not with this style. Too much work to get a point as a chopper. Tired after 6-7 matches.
2. Too slow. Menu at Cary cup - Steak on Friday, Dim Sum lunch + Hooters's wings Dinner on Sat, Dim sum again on Sun - didn't help. I'm sure I packed a few more pounds.
3. At 2 hours a week with sub 2100 attacker at club, I haven't seen good quality loops for a while in practice.
4. Poly balls hurt my serve a bit


But ....... I still love to play this game even not at my best. I'll find new style, new technique and or new equipment to make it work.

Sutanit Tangyingyong When kids pushed, i had to run 6-8 ft to hit. 2-3 matches is ok but not 8 matches.

I don't think we are Facebook friends.. But please add me. I saw John in one of your youtubes testing dormenglanz... And did a search for him because he lives in this area... I need a coach who does LP in more of an all-around style and he fit the bill.

Do you know if he coaches?

I know of no other high level LP chop blockers in the DC/Baltimore area...do you?
