"In Incheon, one can easily spot Joo Saehyuk. He is seen coaching and helping young Korean players. Is this a career change for the best defender in the world? He confessed that even though he is still playing in the Chinese League and T2 APAC League, this may be the last season as a player!

Currently, he is also a coach for Samsung Women’s Team in Korea but admits the level of the players he is coaching is not yet so high.

“For now my aim is to improve and grow as a coach for Samsung but in the future, three to five years down the line, I would like to become the national coach. Anyway, if in five years I don’t achieve good results with my players, I will go back to being a player!!!!” joked Joo Saehyuk.

Comparing the new generation to the dream team of 2012 Olympic Games, he said, “It is a good time to bring a change; I am positive that until next year the Korean Team should reach top four at 2018 World Championship.”

He further revealed that China’s results at the Asian Championships might be due to the new plastic ball.

“For 2017 Liebherr World Championships, I cannot predict that China will surely win the title because the new plastic ball is causing them a lot of troubles. Their opponents are not forced to commit easy mistakes which will lead them into long rallies. Therefore, the opponents of China will have more opportunities to fightback.” Joo Saehyuk"

Interesting comment about the plastic ball. I'm not sure why the Chinese should have more trouble than other countries.
I guess the ITTF will be pleased to hear this.

Me neither, bur Ma Long takled about not liking the new ball after his loss. And he obviously did not play well that match with many unforced errors. But still... why would he have more troubles than anybody else?

Maybe because there'll be more rallies and in rallies foreigners are equal to Chinese players.

Maybe because EU players put in x amount of training in with the old ball and chinese did y amount. Multiply all the wasted effort by every change over the years. for an individual(xu xin)
mental fatigue and mental capacity. for the subtle subtle differences
If they dont change the rules for say 18 years I don't know why a chinese kid wouldn't be top 3
Ive never seen a poly ball..

Isnt that what they say? china trains a "crazy" amount..should just take a philosophy change.. which takes time or a new generation of players

Its not that Chinese will have more trouble than others, its like Joo said, the rest of the world will have more chances against then because they cant make the opponents easily make mistakes...
the services will have less spin, the 3 ball will not be a winner shot all the time, and things will balance a little more, the chinese will still be better, but will lose more often.

on high level any minimal change is a big difference

i dont like new balls or even plastic balls... less spin kills this sport

Each country is limited with players they can put in WTTC, this is then main reason.
