It seems we have an answer to the questions above.

I am curious to see how this develops in the future. At least we'll get to see some more matches from the king ;)

Nexy folks posted this at the end of Feb... see Interview and Articles section. Now everyone is dying to know which rubbers he's gonna play with

Yes I think he does, but for NexyUSA, and so does Der_echte (BH-Man).

32:13, According to the CEO of NEXY KOREA, Joo is now using DHS Hurricane and he really likes it and prefers it.(sadly, he doesn't mention what version, I will guess Hurricane 3 national but I am not sure). According to the CEO, Joo is using same long pips(I assume P1R) and same blade(I assume special order Joo blade, Diode) from the past. According the CEO of Nexy, they are developing new equipment for Joo so there is possibility Joo might change his equipment from Butterfly to Nexy in the future. Joo is contracted with Nexy.

Joo had exhibit match in Korea. The opponent player is one of best player among amateur league in Korea below Korean national players. I would compare him similar to Eugene Wang from America. After announce of return from retirement. Joo is having many exhibit matches and events in Korea to advertise Nexy I think.

This is precious data for me because this is first time Joo gave actual lesson through any media and there is no previous video of him giving lesson. I saw several footage of Koji giving lesson but I think Koji and Joo is so different. Joo mentions and emphasizes grip on your fingers and you have to hold it strong and tight when you impact the ball. I always learned that I have to grip loose but Joo said having not enough grip power loses ball.

This video is interview from Joo. It explains how the Nexy Korea CEO and Joo met. They are advertising Nexy products. Joo tells that his most difficult opponents from Korea, China, and Europe. From Korea, Ryu Seung Min is hardest opponent for him. They had about 30 matches and Joo only won about 3 times according to Joo. From China, Joo said Xu Xin is most difficult because Xu Xin can control and change spin no matter what spin Joo gives him, Xu Xin reverse it to his pace and takes control over Joo. For Europe, Joo said Samsonov is the most difficult. According to Joo, they had many close game like 4:3 but Joo said he never beat Samsonov in his career. Interview host asked, "What about Ma Lin and Harimoto?" and Joo answered that Ma Lin is not that difficult because he won 4 times straight in early career when they had matches. According to Joo, Harimoto does not know how to play against defensive player yet. He mentioned that Nexy does not have the blade for him yet. He tried defensive Nexy blade and it is good blade and it will have no problem from Amateur to use it but it cannot be his firs choice. Joo is known as very honest person in Korea(One of interview host is childhood friend with Joo). Also according to Joo, the reason why he came back is that he is coaching right now but the entire Table Tennis world is having shortage on players and they only have many coaches since declining of the sports, so he decided to come back. His goal is to be top 20 in the world. He is doing many physical training and he is afraid of injury due to his age.

In other interview, I found out that Joo used to change Grass Dtechs and P1R back and forth to confuse opponents who are used to Joo's pips such as Zhang Jike(Joo got him good when switched to Grass Dtechs).

Since Joo retired, there was no news from him after T2 league late 2017. I am so excited to see him again. I am Korean-American living in TN who look up Joo as my role model in TT. I am visiting Korea this Summer and I am going to try to meet or see Joo this summer. Let me know if anyone wondering what Joo said due to language barrier. I am fluent in Korean and English both.

Hmm, I wonder why he never gave the hurricanes/chinese style rubbers a try during his main career... if he likes those better now, seems like he would have been around enough of them to at least test out!

Joo said the reason why he was not using Hurricane is because he could not get genuine national version in the past from other interview.
He said it is only provided to China national team. That interview was old. who knows maybe he can get it now. The Nexy CEO frequently visit China and he met Joo from China by coincidence. They happen to be at same airport and riding same airplane and it turns out the seats were next to each other. That is how they know each other.
