Zheng Jiaqi (郑佳琪) China/USA
Style: shortpips FH, inverted BH, penholder twiddler
Blade: Butterfly Amultart
FH: Butterfly Flarestorm 1.8mm
BH/RPB: Butterfly Bryce

Image

Zheng is 21 years old. Her US rating is 2580, currently number 4. Zheng is originally from Shan Dong Province, China. She was later accepted into Beijing Table Tennis Team. Three years ago, she went to the States. Currently, she's a first year student in Northwestern Polytechnic University's MBA program.

She serves with inverted and twiddles to SP, without twiddling during the play. On her BH side, she RPBs only, without penholder's traditionaly pushes.

In the just closed China Open, she upset Tamara Boros from Crotia in Round 64 and Jiang Huajun from Hong Kong in Round 32. Here're the video links to the two matches.

BTW, someone should start a video thread for Liu Nai Hui.

Is Jiaqi Zheng still available for coaching in the Bay Area? Is she currently part of a coaching staff?

I played her in the open singles event in the pacrim open.

She was using a Timo Boll T5000 chinese penhold blade with Dolphin or Penguin with a purple sponge and Whale 3.

How many points did you win from her ILP? And how many did she "gift" you? (I recall you saying she went easy on you, do you think she could have gone 11-0 on you in all sets?).

I see Lily Zheng is on almost the same rating as her. No. 5 and 8 in US Women's.

She allowed me to get about 5 points per set, only about 2 of all these (15) points I got myself. One was from a service and one was form an actually good smash (She mostly backed off and lobbed)

Yes Reb she could have skunked me for all I was worth (Not much then, and even now  )

If she was coaching in portland somewhere I would definitely sign up...She knows how to be serious and when to be funny too. When she was playing me she was smiling all the time. Almost as cute as Fukuhara

I read one of Peter's posts on MyTT and it said that she and another one of her fellow players won most of the events at the PacRim. Thats a ****load of money. You could buy TENERGY for a year with it!

Tenergy for a year? That's one sheet, maybe 2 :P  So she only won $100-200? :?:

It was nice of her to let you have so many points. Well done on taking 2 yourself. She sounds like a lovely girl and obviously great TT player! And maybe SHE could get YOU focussed and motivated!

I thought TENERGY had to be replaced about 9 times a year and with the rising prices...

Yes she definitely could get me motivated  ...

Yeah, maybe for someone at her level, with sponsorship, she would change Tenergy every other month or so. But for the average person, its a durable rubber. And at such a price, twice a year is generally adequate. Most people I know would look to get a year or more from a sheet. Sponsored players of course would be silly not to change as often as Butterfly lets them.

Anyone know what setup Zheng has switched to recently? I heard either a Stiga EB7 or Clipper Wood. I heard her short pips are Stiga, would like to know which one (Clippa? Radical?)
