Filus will have to play Gacina at German open first round again...

Maybe he can make it closer than last time.

Kind Regards

Slightly off-topic, but where on earth can I watch the German Open? I keep seeing ITTF videos pop up here, but itTV has nothing on their site.

For me, German Open can be ssen on ITTV, don't know why you cant. At the moment of course you won't see live matches as in Germany it is around 10:00pm. But the VOD Section is full of videos.

I have heard, that ITTV has some problems when used mobile...don't know if this helps you.

Kind Regards

Is it blocked in the U.S. I wonder? I'm using the latest version of Chrome on a desktop PC, so it shouldn't be an issue methinks.

What an incredible first set... Ruwen Filus wasn't far away from Ovtcharov's level. He must be the most agressive modern defender around...

Spectacular match, filus is indeed the most aggressive modern defender at the moment. Still room for improvement as well if he could get his chops a bit lower and deeper.

I have never seen Ruwen this good. Lot's of points comes from his BH-attacks or the following FH-attack. He predicted Dima's game very good and was very well prepared and confident. He managed to get some amazing balls back on the table, even when Dima attacked with full force to his body. He had som troubles with Dimas short BH serve to his FH and with handeling Dimas follow up FH attack. And he was a little weak in the beginning of the sets, but as a whole a fantastic effort!!!

I wouldn't be surprised they trained a lot together. Yes, he is the most aggressive modern defender, but from the compilation I saw: can you still consider this guy a defender? Maybe it's better to consider him an allround player with LP on his backhand. Anyway, I still think he would be better of defending more, even against Ovtcharov and making his attacks more surprising. IMO he has the skills, but his tactics are wrong.
