Lorre, I agree with his style not being all defensive, but more allround. But that is only semantics. About what he needs to be better at - everything. Thing is - he has grown a lot better last year. His attack are far more powerful now than a year ago. His BH chops are about the same but he has a better BH attack now (when he twiddles) and I think he make better decisions now. a year ago (or more) ha had a tendency to attack wrong balls leading to loosing points. That doesn't happen that often any more. I think he has found his way of playing and he can now concentrate on refining that.

About being a threat to the Chinese players - probably not. If they get troubles from him they will make a few copies to train against. But he did put some serious pressure on Ryu not long ago (video above). Not many defenders can do that.

I find Ruwen to be the largest source of inspiration for my own playing right now. That might be why I like his development so much :D

I am finding inspiration in his style as well. I am not as tall as Joo or have as long as arms and not as fast as I once was. Ruwen is giving me some ideas to incorporate into my comparatively lowly game. New ideas are kinda fun.

Euhmm vanjr, you do know Ruwen is a whole lot taller than Joo, don't you? Joo is only 1.80m. I agree with the rest, though. :P

I did not realize that. Joo plays tall in that he covers his wide wings very well. I am shocked he is shorter. I wonder if his "wingspan" is longer? Evidentlly I do not know that as well!

Joo is so damn quick and always in the right position he looks like a giant. He might as well have a long wingspan (meaning he has long arms?). But I watched him two times live: he looked like an ordinary South-Korean guy to me.

Another match where Filus, in order to win, needed to find out that his opponent had some serious problems with Filus FH fishing :)
