Great one! Thanks. It looks like Ruwen is playing a little more solid now, not attacking with his forehand on "wrong" balls, playing a little more thoughtful (or mature?). Maybe he is reading this forum :)

while i was watching the vid of Filus against Fedor kuzmin I noticed something about his stance. It appears to me that when he gets into a rhythm with his bh chops he returns to an interesting base/neutral position. He has his bat up high and covering the lower part of his face (chin area/neck). Very interesting, never seen it before. does he do it to help with getting the bat speed on his chops? he already has his bat up close to the area where the stroke begins (ear area). any other reasons? I like this very much and will begin doing it when I play. Of course i could be crazy and could be seeing things.

Ruwen Filus against Timo Boll. Not the best camera angle, and a little "dogma feel" to it.

I was looking forward to that "unbelievable match" against Petr Korbel, but unfortunately, tt-total seems to be down for good :-/.

Ruwen hasn't been playing very well lately. Hopefully he will return will full force soon. I just found this, a match from last years Kuwait Open group stage:

Now that was a nice video; really worked his opponent over. His chopping is like the opposite of Chen Weixing: very slow and deep instead of a fast slicing motion.

Wow its kinda hard to find his vids.
Excellent share guys :D Thanks a bunch !

And Filus is one of the defender who actually understand the importance of twiddling.
Now thats even more MODERN defending

Oh and anyway, Filus' backhand loop is similar to mine, maybe similar to other defenders in this forum.. Its mainly upwards thats why he popped some.. And thats why I learn the to slap with my lp and twiddle-loop with the backhand with more forward motion.

Anyone have a similar backhand loop to Filus' ?
