CRISS-CROSS BLOCKING PLAY THE MOST DEADLY STYLE.

ALLROUND play is the very appialing style to watch. Ruwen, my dear, thank you very much for keeping up to this style. Criss -cross blocking play would make you a better superior player, I am a happy originator of this style.

You know some films are so bad they become good? Well, this is such an example in the commentary section.

I saw the game between Filus and Ma Long. He played really well, but you never had the impression he could beat Ma Long. His attacks were very good, but his defense was too toothless. Ma Long barely made an error on his chops. The key to become a better player for Filus lies in his defense, not his attack.

I am amazed at the mileage Filus got out of twiddling and inverted-looping with the backhand. It seemed like every time he did that, he'd fire the shot to Ma Long's middle and Ma would block it off the end.

To me this is especially impressive because Ma Long and Xu Xin rarely/never make errors when blocking LP attacking shots back (watch the Ma Long vs Ma Te match from the 2017 Chinese national games for examples of this) that most other pros would struggle mightily with. It's almost as if he'd calibrated his racket angle to block back an LP pseudotopspin shot and got surprised that Filus had taken the shot with his inverted rubber.

is developed bh inverted loop in his style because he is too slow to counter attack with pivot fh
