The serve return vid and the serve vids show one of my hardest habits I had to break when in China. They taught me to push while the ball was "on the way up". I used to think I did but nope, I did not. That is what causes to many pop-ups. Waiting too long and pushing at the top or after top of the bounce.
If you have a hard time returning short serves, have someone watch for where you contact the ball when you push. What you think you do and what you actually do can be very different.
Students are just starting to come back to the college. Soon I will be coaching again. I have so many new things learned in China to teach but I think this was one of the harder things for me to change.
