That's how I do it. I can't hardly even do the inverted stroke anymore! But, I've been practicing twiddling, so I've been trying to regain the feel for that too.

That is what I want to know. I think he is bouncing it on the table and sending chop. I would like to see if they can hit incomming topspin with pips.

With friction LP, with a correct blade angle, that stroke is not that difficult to do, really.

Like Haggsiv, I think it would help if you could see both players so you know what spin is on the ball. The blade angle would obviously have to be different for top or chop. Would also be interesting to see if a different stroke is used when chop or top. :)

Coach is hitting directly out of hand, so impossible to tell for sure, but the ball looks pretty much like no spin. This is a Korean coach, he is counting in Korean the number of times his student lands the ball. Minumum 1/2 the women over 35 use OX LP, usually D-Techs. Usually, coach does a short bounce on the tabel and feeds chop, so the student can make a punchshot generating some light topspin, allowing them to add some pace to the shot. This woman in th evid has her blade closed slightly at impact, which makes me think she is getting a no spin ball. Coach is also giving her a relatively high ball. Lots of times in the club, you will see two OX BH players tapping the ball back and forth between their backhands. They face the same type of players in tourneys and nearly everyone relies on their BH to get a FH kill ball.

Edit: She is practicing punching a very light under spin which is almost a no spin. When they punch vs underspin, they put more pace on the shot. She is practicing lifting the ball slightly and putting SOME pace to rush/mistime opponent, but play a safe rally shot. Achuma lady OX players often face each other and get into BH OX LP to BH OX LP rallies that are started with a medium punch vs light underspin or no spin, then they duke it out BH medium punch to punch as fast as they can keep it safe on table, which is the pace you see in vid, not really faster. That stroke is to stay in point and pressure opponent into attacking wrong ball or posture for control of rally. The Achuama players punch on BH and power hit on FH if they are not cutting on FH.

Also, that club must be uber rich. You never see that much open space in a Korean club. The training areas are usually netted off. The kind of places where clubs rent their facility are always short on space and you never have separate courts separated by barriers.

Yongin Table Tennis Club. There are a lot of training videos from that place on YouTube posted by someone with the username proacdang1.

Here's their website: http://cafe.daum.net/youngintt

Seems to be a lot of women players. Is that anywhere near you?

Yong In is maybe 20 miles south of the center of Seoul. I am not so north of seoul, but it takes over an hour to get to the center wiht all the stops on the sub. Maybe another 45 minutes at best to get to Yong In. I would have to have a specific purpose if go somewhere like that.

Maybe going there just to report to the forum what is going on in that club for all those vids to put up a giant post might be enough. Sometimes, like once every couple months, I go visit new club for various reasons, usually a tourney or I have to be in that area for a week and want to see local clubs.

As for seeing a lot of women in the vids, maybe the poster is a woman. Again, lots of the older women use a shakhand Inverted/OX LP setup, usually on a really fast blade like Gergely or Schlager carbon or whatever.

I posted about a year ago a few of my visits to YongIn TTC and the famous LP coach (Yoo Doo Joon) there. He agreed to make public the LP training vids here...

http://cafe409.daum.net/_c21_/bbs_list?grpid=173yS&fldid=LEDP

Many pages and the all the vids are basic training for OX LP on various topics, some have an English title a bit, most have Korean titles.

Here is a sample translation of 1st page if the English doesn't give it away...

Coach Yoo is opening up 94 of his training vids here !!

He makes great lectures in Korea on theory and execution, but the gestures and drills make you all understand enough...
