That's a pretty sexist thing to say. I've seen male umpires make horrendous calls too. It's got nothing to do with the fact it's a lady, it's the fact it's a terrible call!

Yes I agree, it's simply seems a bad call...

That is so bizarre..
Seem's like the umpire is favoring LIU, and so making that a call.. knowing Ishikawa is trailing a game and badly needed that last match point to get to 7th game.. so bizarre.

Yeah, I actually think you're right - but not about the gender bit :p

I'm gonna sound quite harsh towards Umpires here.. my opinion is that *some* Umpires seek to become officials so that they can "wield power". Same reason that some people referee football or even join the police, etc. The guy that runs my table tennis club is an internationally qualified Umpire and he does exactly that, just to prove he has the authority etc. Even in a league match he'll never allow players to decide between themselves or generally be civil (i.e. if ball hits the side of the table, if the players can't decide they'll often say "ah fair enough, just call a let"), he always has to make the decision - even when he clearly hasn't seen it.

Bizarre call. I was interested to see if the opponent was going to intentionally dump the ball in the net if the call was not overturned.
