Olympic Games, Seoul 1988. A small Christmas treat. I found an excellent Brazilian channel on YouTube with very nice quality older championship videos. It seems like he is updating these days so go here and keep an eye out for new additions if you like: http://www.youtube.com/user/onicofagia8223 Anyroads, enjoy the videos Yoo Nam Kyu, South Korea playing Kim Ki Taek, South Korea. Final. This is a fantastic match, IMHO. Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQSwgNv_Anc Andrzej Grubba, Poland playing Sujay Jashiwant Ghorpade, India. Group stage match. |

Cool! Kim Ki Taek was my coach in Korea last year. He's got his little basement club around Seoul. Funny guy, quite a character, still plays amazingly well. Spends about 8 hrs everyday coaching. Yoo Nam Kyu went on to be the national head coach. Here's a pic from when my team won the tournament there. Kim's on the right. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_VYjrcJ_EX0Q/S ... _01500.jpg ... Hmm, looks like the image didn't come through. |

Quote: ... Hmm, looks like the image didn't come through. I edited the link. It should work now as the bloghost where it is hosted does not allow hotlinking from other server locations (it seems). Just click on it Quote: Here's a pic from when my team won the tournament there. Kim's on the right. Kim Ki Taek is the tall Euro-looking guy to the right?! Naaaaah... no way Great that you won the tournament and great for you to be able to play with and be coached by a great player like Kim Ki Taek. Not many get to do that and I know I certainly am envious of you |

YOO NAM KYU SHALL NEVER DIE, I GUESS ... As being an Olympic gold winner, <s>Kim KiTaek</s> Yoo Nam Kyu was given a decent lifelong money allowance from Korean Republic`s supreme government. 800$ monthly dotation is due to him all over his life until his deathday. Make your own estimation about Yoo`s total income at his old age |
