i was anticipating a more closely contested match, but turned out to be heavily one-sided :?

In the videos I’ve seen of these two squaring off Joo always seems to get the better of Chen. I’m a HUGE fan of Chen and I try to, somewhat, model my game close to his. He keeps his game fairly simple with chops on the BH and using his FH to loop, fish, and go for the put-away.

In this humble novice’s opinion, Joo seems to have more tools/ weapons to work with. His rolling loops have fantastic placement on the wings (as seen in this video). Couple this with his FH that mixes in a variety of chops, fishes, and the smashes… it’s just nasty. He controls the pace of the game and when you can do that you’re much more likely to come away with a win.

It’s interesting watching the player’s strategies. After the first game Chen keeps putting the ball to Joo’s FH. I wonder what he saw there that he was trying to exploit?

Lots of fun stuff to study in this one sided match. Thanks for posting!

Joo is simply amazing. He seems to have more trouble against Wang Xi, another modern defender, than against Chen.
