Next up is a match from c. 1978 between Kuo Yuo Hua and Liang Ge Liang.

This is on "Hatman's" account and hadn't finished processing as of this post, when I'm going to bed.

To find it go to http://youtube.com/profile?user=stevieoddsocks

It is in two parts owing to size.

That is seriously the most entertaining game I've ever, ever, seen.

One could almost suspect it was staged? (The very last point is hit back to the player who's crashed into barriers, rather than into open court.) Even if it was, the energy is simply amazing. Watching this clip it's easy to sympathise with the Hard Batters general hate of how technical, rather than rally based, today's modern game is.

Cheers TTSam! Look how wide Liang's stance is??? He's a great looking modern defender... He used short pips didn't he?

But back then surely he was using short pips- his ability to both chop and attack on his b/h was amazing.

He is and was using LPs. If one does not know any better, one watching Deng Yaping would assume she was using anything but LP?

Eric reached a W/ranking in the mid 20's ? I think, but beat virtually everyone at one time or another. Danny Seemiller reached a slightly higher ranking but didn't create as much of a stir, because he mainly used his anti to return serve.

Hi everybody, I think that the player you are mistaking him for is Eric Boggan.

There are a few new ones on http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=stevieoddsocks

As I'm at Uni, my old man is uploading them all on to his account.
