Wow, never saw Jie play. What a style! The Chtchenine of women -- awkward, strange, yet wonderful to watch.

It seems that Germany, and the rest of Europe for that matter, is reputed for taking good defenders that the chinese don't value.

Jie must be in her 40's or even early 50's in the video. She looked even more graceful back in the 90's in her prime. Love her bouncy style and like a true defender she has a distinctive signature backhand serve.

I stumbled over this video as I was doing a search on 837 and it came up. apparantly she uses a shake defence blade which is a springy blade if i recall correctly and she uses 1.5 super fx and 0.5 837! If those cheap chinese rubbers are good enough for her they should be good enough for everyone!

Amen. I know it's the EJ's terror... but: 729/RITC make great rubbers, at a great price. Pick a few, and have a go. If you need to change, there's a good selection. I almost feel it's worth just saying: I will only use 729/RITC. Save your $$$ and restrict your choice, and spend your saved $$$ on coaching... or beer/wine :))

Actually she has so much skill that she makes using these rubbers look easy...I find it hard to control Chinese stuff in comparison to Japanese high quality material ...but I definitely agree with you LC for the price you can't beat it and sometimes you get useful effects out of the 755/837...
