IIRC Tom himself abandoned this grip years before the 2008 Olympics were ever played, so I think that should speak volumes...

I don't think it's possible to judge a grip using this video, he probably looks just as awkward playing shakehands. I have no doubt i could be us ~2000 with that grip in a month or two if i had a proper racket. I also don't think it can be used to be world class, but i would've said the same about reverse penhold.
