Hi Guys,

Just bought a Casio Exilim EX-FC100 compact camera not very expensive.
Great thing is it can film at 1000 frames per second, but resolution is very low and it needs lots of light.
I figured it could still work for some basic TT equipment testing.

Here is youtube of my first try.
Camera is at 90 degrees so tilt your head sideways lol. My bat is resting on the TT table ball is thrown with some moderate spin at an angle onto the bat. Background grid is 10mm squares.
Video displays at 10 fps so is about 100 x slower than actual. So this 20 sec video is showing 0.2 seconds of actual time.
Stiga tube Al with Xiom vega pro.

Each frame is 1 millisecond.
Shows dwell time with impact speed of about 7m/s is around 2milliseconds.
Most interesting thing is the deformation of the ball squashes up a lot more than i expected.

With better lighting and more time to set up I hope to do a lot more testing.

Nice.

Is that topsheet really vibrating 'long' after the ball is gone or is that just the strobe effect from the light?

You could use the youtube video editor to rotate the video upright.

Just to see how it worked :)

I lost a lot of size somewhere. I guess because of the extreme aspect ratio of your video.
