Nice pink shirt...NOT! Maybe if he had blue shorts to match the blue patch....NAHHH! :^)

I was surprised to look up and find he is over 2100. All the guys in the Defender team in our A4 Seniors retrieve better and more consistently than he does. When I first looked it up I thought the kid was Bobow, and 2100 for him looked too high too. The kid doesn't have enough power to blast through him, although the court area IS huge and allows Bobow to go back a long way to let the ball die. Our courts only allow about 10 feet back.

Bobrow is the same guy from that viral TT dancing video.

Someone should tell Ebby that lobs should be illegal as they make kids quit the sport.

Haven't seen the vid but I can imagine it lol.

But lobbing with inverted surely wouldn't make any kids quit...its not tricky enough :P

at tennis i hate opponent lobbing to me as i can't hit a overhead with power or control ever.

at t/t pimples gives more penetration than inverted in drives so don't have a problem.

remember once watching a left-handed Fillipino player dictating most points at nationals against Simon Gerada only to lose 1-3 as he did not quite have the power to finish points off.

juniors and women are the weakest at smashing by far, although not always.

Placement is key. I myself am not a hard hitter, but my placement is excellent so rallies like these rarely take long.

Especially playing short and long is very effective. Though than don't do as the kid in the video playing his 'short' balls from the top of the high bounce. :)

Surely this depends upon your definition of "awesome". |(

Haha, Adam wouldn't be able to do that in our courts, he wouldn't have enough room. We only go back about 15 feet lol (which is about 6-7 feet more than I EVER need :P ).

Good vid Yosua! ;)

I love to lob, too, but I never do it like a cat playing with a mouse! It seems one of the best proponents of the lob was Waldner, and he surely was the proverbial cat playing the mouse.

When I have to lob it's just to stay in the point. I've won enough points with miracle lobs to justify doing a little practice whenever I get the chance. 8)

Lobs are the craziness of TT. That's a compliment of anyone who can do them effectively. Sure, they have their shortcomings, but I'm sure they're fun to do. (And why do we play? What's the meaning of the word play?) And they do sometimes work. Like Oskar said, Waldner was an exceptional lobber. I wish I could ;( Congrats to you who can.....the guy in the video seems pretty competent at it.

I really need to separate skill from behaviour on this one. I love the guy's ability to lob and and it's a magnificent point.  But... give me a break on the celebration. :puke:

I find that so disrespectful to the kid who's just lost the point. And at the end, the kid is ready to go again while the lobber is still acting like a jackass.

I totally agree, Tassie52. Some people will celebrate their own egos at anyone's expense - never excusable when it's a kid trying his hardest. :@ I was half expecting him to slap the kid in the back of the head, too. :n:
