They set up a table, a robot and a (radar?) speed gun. Most "loop kills" were in the 58-60 km/h range, the Russian girl near the end got one as high as 63. Flat-hit kills (guy in green Diesel shirt) weren't scoring as high. You wonder if the first guy wouldn't have done better (best shot 60) if he'd taken off his long-sleeved jacket. Apparently at a trade show in Germany - anyone ever attended a table tennis trade show? I never came across one in the US. Might've been in conjunction with a major tournament. Interesting idea for a booth. Apparently 1 euro for five shots (missed balls don't seem to count). Wonder if the speed gun used radar, I didn't think a table tennis ball would register - maybe you'd have to sputter some aluminum or carbon on it to get it to work... Iskandar |

It's a really cool setup... having one of these machines could be really good for other types of TT shows... who would not want to try one? |
