i have a sheet of the new donic twister LB

had a quick hit yesterday, very similiar to standard twister 40

only difference i can find the new LB has a harder sponge, is a little faster and slightly heavier.

the reverse effect is around the same.

it does feel a little more orthodox to use but this has not effected the reverse effect.

will keep you informed

had another go today,[1.5mm version, it also comes in 1.2/2.0mm]this rubber is very different from original Donic Twister 40.

the reverse effect is significantly less, by that i mean the opponent does not need to dig the ball out. in fact my opponent was hitting off end of table.

the increased grip of this rubber make it particularly easy to use.

almost more grippy than some short pimples but still with a little reverse spin.

although the reverse effect was quite poor ,i found the spin variation i was getting between neutral and topspin to be very good. this is what separates it from short pips.

i use this rubber on f/hand side only. for me it is at best hitting a forehand/drive against a slow ball and counter looping[flat] against opponents heavy forehand cross-court loop.
the control here was awesome.

not so consistent at returning opponents serve as Twister 40 as ball bites into rubber a bit more.

other difference was speed, this rubber is faster.

very enjoyable to use, but will reserve judgement till play in competition.

If the big thing your going for is reversal, there are better rubber types than medium pips. If you are looking to attack with low, dead, hard hit drives and blocks.....

i gave my LB twister away after a few tries.

it is very easy to use and fast, but opponent does not need to dig ball out, as ball does not come off rubber flat, from what i remember it came off my rubber with orthodox topspin.

for someone looking with orthodox forehand stroke, this could be ideal rubber,or for players looking to lift backhand this rubber should have sufficient grip and speed.

this LB Twister rubber pimples do not break unlike Twister 40 which is terribly undurable.

i still use Twister 40 which has AMAZING DOWN effect.

more than long pips but less wobble if that makes sense.

i tried red Twister 40 last week and seems way more grippy than the black version.

the down effect was much less too, going back to black Twister 40 again.
