The MP rubber is Armstrong Attack 8M.

I have doubs of that thinkness use Fukuhara in her MP rubber. 1.5mm, 1.8mm, 2.0mm? What do you think?

What others MP rubbers is suitable for Nittaku Acousitc:

- Dr Neubauer Diamant?
- Hallmark Panther?

And SP rubbers:
- Hallmark Magic Pips
- TSP Spectol 21

Is Ai-chan still using pips out? She LOOKS like she's using pips of some sort on the backhand - and very aggressively, too - but when I was watching her games at the recent Russian Open, the backhand rubber LOOKS like it's inverted. Cool style, stays close to the table, drives everything into the corners, switches direction effortlessly.

Yes, she's still using Attack 8 L-type.

The M-type is like a long pips rubber.

L-type is like 563, but better quality and more control.

She's using her own blade, which is new from Butterfly. Google it.

From a pic I saw it appears she's using at least 1.8.

I've recently bought both in in 48 degrees hardness and they have a lavendar sponge, like hers. Hard and dead feeling rubber, yet it's fast enough, similar to Spectol Speed. The M type is good for defense as well; chopping is great.

Interesting, though, that "L" type is like medium pips and "M" type is like long pips!

Yes, I was very disappointed with the M type when I saw it. However, it's quite deadly in skilled hands, as any LP is. I played well enough with it; and it's pretty fast while also being able to absorb speed very well in blocking.

I mean, "M" is the first letter in "Medium" and "L" the first letter in "Long", so it seems to be backwards! ;)

i think the "L" means large (in diameter) while "M" means medium. the height/length of the pips should be the same.

Armstrong Attack 8- MEDIUM PIPS
1. The height of the pips - 1.2mm
2. The diameter of the pips - L>M>EX-X
3. Sponge - Hi-tension- 53°, 48° , Super I- 41°, 43, PZC-SP -25°
4. The thickness of the sponge- " color-size-arm- RED 4.0 "- 4.0-1.2-0.3/rubber sheet underneath 0.3 mm/ = 2.5mm

So she doesn't use her eponymous Butterfly blade? Who sponsors her?

She does use that blade. I've seen her with it all this year. The title of this thread is wrong :P

What's on the forehand? One of the Tenergies? Or a Hurricane?

thanks for the info, dr.Nikk.

Would the EX-X have better disruption than the M? How does each of the different sponge affect play?

Being Japanese and having been sponsored since she was a wee little girl, it's doubtful she used 563. I've never seen any good evidence that she did, although it hardly matters, since the two rubbers are similar enough for us mortals.

Though I'm not certain, I don't think the Japanese, especially high level players, use cheaper Chinese equipment -- they may use national versions, as I think Yuka Ishigaki uses some form of Hurricane.

Definitely, in Korea, very few people use Chinese stuff. There seems to be a general prejudice against it here.

FH is Butterfly Spin Art, 2.1.

HUGE prejudice about it, but that is changing. You now see a number of the Chinese stuff we use, mostly inverted rubbers though.
