ok, its a mid pips but im putting it here

as im getting reay for my change to shakehand, Im starting to gather info about what I'll be using (FYI, half-long, manga and stiga allround WRB)

now I know how to play against long pips (i love playing against them) and I know a good idea about short pips, but mid pips im clueless

Halflong is a 1.5mm pips, well, im using 1.5 but 2,1 and OX are thereaswell. http://www.hallmarktt.co.uk/e-medium.php is a basic idea of what the pips are

Now Im gona be using the pips on by BH

1) what should I exect from the rubber/mid pips?
2) whats the best style/way to use the pips?

be nice if I get some info, caus tbh, I cant wait when i get the bat lol

The medium pips I've tried tend to be for much more aggressive style, far closer to short pip play than long pips play. The rubbers tend to be too fast for me to chop consistantly..

However Hallmark and Dr N pips are generally slower, so I would be very interested to hear how you like these pips...

i have tried this rubber already, I believe on he hallmark combination blade

it inst that bad yes I woul agree with the fast play. When my grur used the rubber, he is used to using anti spin rubbers, so he used it almost like an anti, fast hits and fake spin shots (making a stroke that looks like spin is on it but there is none). Once I get the hang of shakehand I'll be able to give a fill and propper review

I've got half long in 1mm. I'm not a chopper and i wouldn't say this was a choppers pip. The sponge is soft, the pips have grip, the strokes are more sp than lp. Blocks need to be closed and forward. They can give no spin, some reversal, or top. Chop blocks need to have the bat more open than LP. The stroke they won't do is the against back spin blade open push. Against back spin you need to flip with a wristy shot and an upward movement (gives top spin), or a kind of punch block which is bat 90deg to the table and firm wrist. Spin variation is the name of the game. If you are coming from pips in or short pips rubber I guess it would be easier than coming (like me) from LP.

No problem. Med pips seem to come in two flavours, those with thin pips that look like lilliputian LPs, leggy, pimple mini, and those like half long which are broad pips and look like sps. You need to decide if you want the ability to attack with spin, or hit and/or defend. Best of luck!
