Never noticed that before, I think you're right. It's marked "888 II". Here is the picture:

I had a hit with 888-2 on 1.2mm sponge. First thing I noticed was that the pips are big and really soft and grippy. It feels like the same formulation used on the Mo Wang 2 rubber but with wider, shorter height pips. I confirmed with eacheng that the 888-2 has bigger pips than 888. The sponge is really soft and porous. Probably around 30-35°.

It is noticeably more spinny than 563 as the pips are much softer. It plays closer to a short pips than a medium I think, but still retains the ability to hit through spin. Speed on the 1.2mm sponge is very manageable. Chopping feels better than 563 as it is easier to engage the softer pips and the backspin is decent.

This is a good MP to try if you prefer flexible pips on soft sponge.

Does this 888-2 still have sinking effect like globe 888 or it's just more like 802-40 which behaves like inverted rubber?
