Very good control. Short blocks. 2mm fast sponge. Seemed good for smash. Bearing in mind it was 2 mm on a very fast balsa blade it was excellent. I thought it was a long pip. Shocked to find out what it was afterwards. He beat us all. He hadn't had it long. My first defeat in that division this season.

Thinking of getting a sheet myself.

Somebody in a German forum (Noppentest) posted a short review of the Keiler:
- high disruptive effect on blocking
- faster than other medium pips
- control only slightly below Dr. N Diamant
He said that the pips are quite long and flexible; also there was a strong chemical smell when opening the packaging.

Is it very hard to control ? I m using waran and playing penhold.but want more sink I played with zava but not very consistent 67th dealing with low spin ball

Yesterday I played for more than 2 hrs against paralympic (wheelchair) and world champion Anna Carin Ahlqvist who uses Keiler on BH and Dornenglanz ox on FH on a balsa blade. BH is her primarily weapon and she drives, hits, smashes, serves, pushes with it over 70 % of the table. FH is used for blocks and drives but only for a small part of the table. Her illness (MS) and sitting low in a wheelchair makes FH more weak than BH. Anyway, Keiler seems like an interesting rubber, it can produce rather much topspin from a low or no spin ball (when serving, drives against back spin, or just hitting the ball from the hand when staring a drill). I never noticed much back spin but that can probably be done as well. When blocking or driving with a flat hit against top spin the sink effect is very clear. Sometimes the ball stops a little. Looping back those blocks are not easy, one must lift and loop a little slower or ball will go to the net (or long). She has very good control with this rubber and can control both spin and speed. And make very fast and nasty attacks where she places the ball nice in the corners. Returning serves seem rather easy also, but one must be a little catious when attacking back spin serves since the soft pips and soft sponge lets the ball grip the rubber on low impact. But it is a difficult rubber to play against.

I take it this cannot be played in ox? Or can it be effectively? Did you guys or has anyone else played with it in different thicknesses? Osyris21 .- you guys do a great job in showing the diversity of this rubber, it seems there is nothing that you cannot do with it!. Would a lp ox player of a few years be able to adjust to it easily enough?, how would it play in 0.5 or 1.0mm sponge, what would the differences be? I get the feeling it plays almost like an inverted rubber, would that be a fair observation?

I played against an opponent who used this on a TSP Balsa 8.5 blade today. Red 2.0 sponge. Forehand. Terrific effect and blocking capability. Sink effect as good as a long pip. I lost to him in four and thought he was using a long pip. He used Giat Dragon Long attack pips on his backhand ox. Very difficult. Bulldog.

Thank you for your update BD, was the Keiler fast in 2 mm and or did it have great control, was blocking able to be short, could pace be taken of the ball? I am seriously considering replacing my GDTALON OX with this on my bh, not sure if I should use sponge or ox! I am surprised that this has not become a popular best selling rubber as I know many have changed and generally it is thought that mp or sp are best for the new ball and I must admit I have struggled some this season!with it!

I think he had a long pip with sponge but also mentioned a variety of FS 802 but I never got to the bottom of which one. Bulldog

Played my first tournament with Keiler. Did pretty well and played about my rating. Not bad for the first tournament with new equipment. Its a little change from PimpleMini, quicker when hitting, almost as slow when you attempt a slow soft hand block. Control was good against loops and pushes. I had a little issue with a player who was flat hitting balls, but that was my problem nothing to do with the Keiler. Have to work on my technique against that type of shot, it was obviously something Looking forward to my next outing with these new pips. I used Keiler in 2.0 mm for this tournament, may try 1.8 mm and see if I can tell any difference in the way the slightly thinner sponge plays.

If you're used to Waran, I'd say Keiler is actually easier. It's more disruptive, and not as fast, but with plenty of control. What is the problem with a low-spin ball? With Waran (or Keiler) you should be able to hit straight through a no-spin ball, with devastating effect.
