The colleagues at ttmaximum shop in the youtube channel have released a very informative video .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zNqRE8GWAA

however, the 1,3 mm is the best option for a disruptive game. With the right technique one can attack with the forehand though I must say it is not easy .

K.O pro will be released in June 018 with more sinking effect and speed .Those close to the table blockers will love K.O , the only problem is that blocks must be passive to be disruptive enough and the fh attack must be chosen at the right time with the right technique.

Hope this helps for those who love blocking and counterattacking .

Great video! Has anyone had a chance to try KO pro yet? How much faster is it?

Yes, I am aware of that but I got to try Bison+ before it was released, I am sure that there are samples of KO pro on a few bats out there :).

I tested today KO 1.3 for the first time. I will compare it to Dtecs 0.5 that I play regurally.

- KO is heavy as inverted, maybe twice as heavy as my Dtecs.
- Overall I could play 70-80 % of same shots as with Dtecs.
- Blocking was good, certainly better than expected.
- Speed was faster than Dtecs. If Dtecs speed is 5, KO is 6 or 7.
- KO need more open blade angle in many shots. I missed many shots right to the bottom of net in the way that Dtecs would not behave. Open face "inverted push" seem to be safest to clear the net - with Dtecs you can can take nearly everything with vertical blade.
- Chopping was ok, maybe bit too fast and and not as good with Dtecs, but I hadn't really chance to chop. Not much underspin in chops.
- Attacking was bit of a disappointment, bit more speed than Dtecs and more ability to attack top or no spin, but I didn't find out the best tecnique. Certainly not many straigh winners as I was hoping.
- KO worked best when I was passive. Blocks and stuff have potential for disturbance, on the other hand I had to aim many shots high to clear the net.
- While I am comfy with Dtecs and shots come automatically, with KO I have to think all the time and experiment different angles.
- I did well in games, won many sets, but also lost some sets badly because of easy mistakes with KO.
- Overshooting was less of problem than I expected, althought some ball took of like a bullet in unpredictable manner.
- I haven't played medium pips before, but KO was close to LP, far away from short pips.
- Maybe with faster raquet the disturbance or attack would be more effective.
- I am not sure, if KO is clearly better at anything that Dtecs does.
- No one commented on weird trajectories or stuff like that, but we have lots of pips players and lots of different pips, so they are used to it.
- Serve receive went Ok, better than expected.

I will continue testing and keep reporting of it

Hi Roy,
Did you play it on your CWX blade?
I was thinking about trying it on a TSP Balsa blade.

Yes I did and it's speed is like all+ or off-, so not a slow blade. Maybe I try it with Firewall+ and with Spinlord ultra carbon def in the future. With JSH it is way too heavy to even try. :(

Second training against defensive/control players, so I didn't get experience of testing KO under pressure or against hard looping. Games went fine and I won them all. I found out that "pressed block" works well with KO. It's a shot that I don't use with Dtecs 0.5, because reversal gives underspin balls that are likely to sail off board.

I got actully bit of praise of regular training partner, as he said that "You play good with BH as balls come so lifeless that they are hard to handle". For him the reversed balls from Dtecs are easier, because they are slower and with spin.

For now it seems the KO is good for "The Pushblocker" type of game with pressured shots to the opponent close to table. However I have still to test, how KO works against serve+attack type of players.

Thx guys for the info and reviews.

Found KO 1.5 very good in al the defence and passive situations:
In general:

- Good for service return (insensitive to incoming spin)
- Chop block just fine
- Passive block very good against attackers and loopers
- Chops OK, Not a lot of reversal
- Push fine, not fast but a little bit of disruption

--> It works indeed best when you are playing passive (block, push)

But on the attacking aspect of the KO it was for me personnally a bit disappointed. :(
- Not easy to attack backspin or hit through spin
- Not very fast
- Not grippy (doesn't have to be for me, but I expected more attacking possibilities)

I started the training and competition with KO 1.5mm last season
but switched already after a few matches because i could not attack with
it stable and constantly. I missed a little bit of easy attacking with KO 1.5. (switched to Aggressor)

But for all the 'passive things' (especially block) in table tennis this one was very good.
I hope that it will be easier to attack with KO PRO. Than we could have a very good one.

Hopefully this helps you guys.

I have quite exactly the same experience after just 2 training sessions.

I was also hoping to smack lightning fast winners past opponents, but it's not that easy... ;) Lack of grip propably suits me fine, because I am more used to slippery kind of pips.

Perhaps you should try DMS Power Pipes?

Yes was thinking of DMS Power Pipes 1.5 on Der Materialspezialist Revolution blade
And KO PRO 1.5 on my DonicWUSC.

These combinations should work i think 8)

I have played now 4 times with KO and it's easy to play for non-grippy LP users. The bottom line was: Is it better than Dtecs 0,5 in anything? Not sure. Dtecs has more control and disturbance.

Cut sheet of K0 1.3 weights 46g! Cut Dtecs 0.5 weights on 25g, so it's whooping 21g lighter!

BJ20 said it well above: KO is disapointment in attacking department, which might have justified it's weight and lack of control compared to Dtecs. I might try something faster and grippier to get attack possibilities in BH. That may not lead to better results overall, but it might be for fun to have some BH winners at summer training season... ;)

At present, I am experimenting k.o 1,3mm plus Aggressor 1.3 mm . Disruptive blocking game. passive blocking with k.o and active blocking with Aggressor. I can successfully attack with k.o and Aggressor on my bh . On the fh the blocks from both are great. The only drawback is fh attack .It takes training and technique and just finding the right height of the ball .

Therefore, I think K.O pro + Power pipes should be a pretty good combination too .
