563 seemed like a grippier MP version of Dr. Evil -- hits were muffled crisp but were not spinny (knuckle ball?), blocks also have a similar no-spin characteristic. It seems like the rubber reduces the incoming spin quite a bit.

Playing it in OX feels like playing with a thin sponge, like 0.6-1.0mm -- probably due to the thickness of the pips as compared to SP.

563 had wide, textured pips which feel grippy upon touch. You can generate light topspin on rolls.

Pace control with the 563 is also quite good -- solid or soft contact can help you control the depth of blocks. Overall speed of the sheet was slow to moderate as I played it in OX.

All of this on an Avalox P500.

Hi Baal, you did mention before that some women used 563 -- did they use thick sponges? Soft ones?

I'm planning on trying out a sheet on some soft 2.2mm sponge, but I reckon it'll be a tad hard to handle for me.

Medium meaning like Sriver, huh? I guess this Avalox Magic A could do the trick...

Cheers mate! :D

Reckon anyone with a caliper handy? I'd like to know the height of 563 pips (and also a lot of medium pips for that matter.).

I think it was 1.5mm sponge that was quite common...
