I recently got two OX sheets from my coach, 799 and 563 (both black). I may be able to trade in one of the two for an 837 if needed. Now here's my 'problem'

I'm trying to get a nice chopping rubber out of this (and I'm a big fan of SP chopping). But I don't think using these sheets OX will have much success. So I thought, I should order some sponge. But OOAKT only carries a friendship 0.6 sponge. This one may work with an 837, but it just seems too thin for SP (or MP, 563) chopping. Any thoughts on this?

If I'm not getting the 0.6 sponge, I must find some other ones, so I guess I'll have to order some Dawei sponges from Cole's (sorry Alex :pale: )
Any suggestions on which would be best?

thanks in advance

Jasper

From the looks of things, 1.0mm soft sponge should do fine.

I reckon the farther away you are from the table, the thicker the sponge should be. OX-1.0mm close, thicker when farther.

I used 799 for a while on a soft, slow 1.0mm sponge and it was one of the better chopping pips I've tried...Ideally I would say go for something in 1.3mm that's fairly dead and medium-hard. Pretty much the exact sponge that's under Pluto :)

Would urge you to compare it against 837 under a small amount of soft sponge or even OX.
