Hello everyone

- where are you from, country and club, where you play
I'm in the US, Los Angeles area. Play here in the office, and just very recently joined a local club.

- how long you've been playing (how old? )
Almost 2 months. 40+ years old

- playing style
People say I'm always attacking, so I guess attack style? I do have a fond admiration of defensive choppers though.

- level
fast growing budding seed, almost weed like

- job or what you do outside TT
bored at my job, but the $$$

- other hobbies
sport fishing, NHL hockey - Anaheim Ducks

- how you stumbled upon this forum
bored one day, random google search

I never cared for TT, or bothered to know how to play it properly other than to kill time with friends with beer in hand and just happy the ball went over.

Like some stories I've heard, people have picked up TT during their college dorm years, or there was a TT table brought into the office. Well, the later part is how I got seriously into it and is my current obsession. And now here I am...tah-dah!

Looking forward to getting to know some of the boardmembers here.

Welcome ZeroZero!!

There is a lot to learn!

What kind of paddle/bat/racquet are you using?

What king of fish do you fish for?

I live in Canada. There is a lot of fishing here. And...8 TT clubs in my city, Winnipeg. (700,000 population)

Thanks for the warm welcome Glennholder.

I just use the office and club's paddle. Should have my own by next week.

I do 90% saltwater, mostly shallow water off the 1/2 or 3/4 day boats. Don't do much deep sea anymore, cost and time commitments. However I do a lot of fly fishing off the beach, crack of dawn for 2 hours before the beach crowd arrives and then go to work a few blocks away. It's an odd sight to many people, as most associate fly fishing in idyllic rivers.

Oh you're in the 'Peg?! Go Jets Go! 8)

Hey ZeroZero, you have creative ideas for your fishing! Send a pic of a good catch some day!

This attached pic shows my creativity (10 years ago) of how to get to the fishing spot. I just drilled holes right through the roof of the car and bolted on my home made boat rack!

Yes! Go Jets Go!

You California people have no shortage of hockey...if you are a fan!

Welcome to the forum Tomahawk!!

You certainly live in a country that has a high appreciation for Table Tennis!

We all benefit when we share ideas on equipment and tactics!

Question: do you do tomahawk serves?

Thank you glennholder.

About the Tomahawk, I do the side spin Tomahawk on FH and BH. Have been working on the other spins but they are far from match ready.
They just fly straight up or straight down for now. :(

Hey Glennholder, it's not my pics, but this is effectively how we look like when we fly fish the surf. Jeff Priest is the guy that taught me how to cast when I first picked it up. Didn't know who he was at the time, but he spent a good amount of time teaching me at the training ponds at the Long Beach Casting Club weekly sessions.

Welcome to the forum Kim. Did you find the info on the blades you were curious about here?

We have quite a few here from Malaysia. Not sure if they are from KL or not. I'm sure some would be, its such a big part of Malaysia.

Post subject:  Re: Introduce yourself

hello,

I am a french player, switched to penhold about 2 years ago ( after 20 years with shakehand grip )

playing penhold was like a child dream for me, a bit difficult as I started, according to the fact I am 56 ...

Now it's ok, My competition level is nearly the same.

I am playing "traditionnal" style with one rubber only.

and I am violin teacher.

haha its small geographically speaking, not even a state, but the population are the most dense in that city. Haha yes, I was lurking at ooak quite a bit for the comparison of barwell fleet, ludeack fleet and violin (nittaku fan over here!) and finally coped the ludeack fleet, wish to see more nittaku fans in the future. I won few competitions wielding nittaku typhoon, storm and three star haha, they make the best pre assembled blades back then. Have a nice day mate!
