I found the Yinhe/Galaxy W6 (Loop King) paired very well with the H3 Neo - if you like to loop, it's a very good match - especially going from an all round blade (this is off-) it shouldn't be that much of a leap as a going to a 7ply clipper or carbon blade would be. I think it's best to move forward slowly, step by step, rather than leap forward, and possibly lose control. The price of the W6 allows you to do this inexpensively.

My step after this was the very reasonably priced HRT clipper...from which I went back to my happy place - 5 ply blades!

@stupet11 I just want to get on record that KS's recent purchase decision was NOT my fault.

Proves my point - 5 ply to 7 ply, some people just can't handle it! Some don't notice. Some just ignore you! (The decision was mae on the handle being the same!!!). :headbang:

Nowhere near flexy. Stiffer than a few 7plies I've used.

I suppose we come back full circle, then  - what exactly is "flex", again? (If it's something you feel while playing, sure, I'm happy to agree, since you've felt them and I haven't.. but again, what exactly do you feel when playing with a "stiff" blade as opposed to a "flexy" one?)

Okay so..... the current goal is to pair Hurricane 3 Neo with a blade that has hard outer plies (koto, walnut, [something else hard???]) and is thin (and therefore flexible).

Xiom Fuga seems to fit the description pretty well. Koto - Spruce - Ayous - Spruce - Koto. The thickness is 5.6mm which should be flexy. The description from Xiom says that it is designed for close to the table looping with Chinese rubber (which is my style). And its OFF-, so it's not too big of a speed increase for me. So, what do you guys think? http://www.tabletennis11.com/other_eng/xiom-fuga

(I'll probably use Evolution FX-S or something similar on the backhand side)

The Avalox P500 is very similar, but it's more money and rated faster.

Then again - do blades really flex? If "flexy" is something you feel rather than physical flexing, it follows that thin blades aren't necessary flexy. Silver says the thin Ebenholz V and Rosewood V are "stiff"...

I guess I'm referring to physical flexing. So that the blade it capable of a longer dwell time (while it bends backwards and then springs forward). In my case i'm making an assumption that the blade will flex based on the type of wood and thickness.

I can whole heatedly recommend the P500 - I was selling them on here for about half the price at TT11 - I used Hurricane rubbers for a couple of years after shoulder surgery to make me loop properly again.

The Galaxy W6 was fantastic with all hurricane rubbers, a very good cheap alternative, i player a tensor on my bh.

Once I got my full range of motion back, I found I lacked power, and use a control tensor both sides now on the P500.

I do not like very fast blades, and Off- is accurate for P500.

Having used the Fuga and the STIGA ARC I can say that transitioning to the Fuga was very pleasant. Sharper feeling and a bit stiffer but still retaining the flex and feeling of a conventional 5-ply.

See my previous posts about this, and why I think blades don't actually flex. We've had quite a few discussions about this over the last year..

Another vote for Fuga, if you can still get one.

Nice! glad to hear that. Just ordered the Fuga. I"m planning to use Rakza 7 soft on the backhand. I started using it on my Allround Classic and like it a lot as a backhand rubber.
