I think this can be quite a useful list for our forum, so I'll 'sticky' it. Good idea Vinnie, and good on you for maintaining the list :thumright:

Not trying to shot this tread down, but to be honest, the only thing I think this will show is that the listed weight of a blade is a very rough indication and nothing else. I mean, the Cayman is listed at 70 grams or something like that, but you yourself have had one at 42! There are loads of examples like this.

The best thing to do is to ask your supplier to get one at the weight you want, but if it is far from the listed weight, don't expect it to play like it's ratings.

But what it does do is give some indication of variations in weight (if we get enough entries of the same blade) and it's quite useful to know a range of weighs that the blades are actually in, instead of knowing just the quoted weights.

I agree, it will give a good idea which manufacturer's figures (and perhaps QC) can be relied on. Slightly concerned that home scales may not be that accurate though.

I don't think they'd be too many g's out though. We're mainly looking for fairly large differences, I think.

I used to be quite serious about fishing and you'd be amazed at the variation in angling scales.......

We should see how accurate it is compared to your supplier, so we can wait until you have an opportunity to weigh them maybe somewhere down the track.

Updated.
Thank you very much.

Due to the lack of input over at DTTW I have asked for that topic to be closed, as it also makes it easier for me just to update on the one site, so this is now exclusive to OOAK.

Keep them coming!
