Slow, soft, made for the 38mm ball. Also a very small handle. There are better ones out there. But if you want go to www.butterflyonline.com

Matsushita is 5.5 mm thick. This means you get a lot of flex and dwell time.

maybe one of the best allround blades, finding this blade beautiful too, specially handle..
flexible...feels sharper and weaker than Def II

Blade: Darker Speed 90 Jpen
FH: Dawei Inspirit Quattro UL
This was one of my first custom blades and I picked it because it was soft and not too fast. I was still learning my basics and I felt it gave me the freedom to overhit at times and still get the ball on the table. It was not very powerful but I played close to the table so it was good enough for me. It has a shorter handle compared to most ALL blades, because this is a DEF blade. And I actually used it Cpen and only recently sold it to a budding defender at the club where I go to play. Fond memories. I used it mostly with Sriver L and Mark V.

What are the classic rubbers like to chop with on the Matsushita? I'm using Xiom Yanus at the moment, looping is good but the feeling I get from chopping with it could be better.

I would go with feint long or Yasaka phantom on this blade. If using inverted Tackifire Drive or 729 tacky rubbers.

bty tackifire D 1.9mm or bty tackiness II 1.9

by the way ,if you want to chop with in-rubber , the thickness of the sponge under 2.0mm is great

bty matsushita pro model is a 5-ply wood blade , which is known as soft , best-controling , and flex .

chopping and blocking are this blade's strength . Compared with defence II , it also has a acceptable performance of loop . but defence II wins in hit .

to be honest , I prefer defence II to matsushita pro , because the former is a kind of blade that is stiff but not so bouncy . this good charactor gives defence II good-feelings .

if you are a good chopper , matsushita is a good choice .

if you are a attack-defender , joo se hyuk(good at loop) or defence II(good at hit) is great . and if you feel comfortable with fiber-blade , matsushita special (adding alc fiber) ,or matsushita alpha (adding al fiber) is also worthy of trying ,unless their price hold back you .

+1, completely agree. The Mat Pro is good for looping and chopping. The DII used to be my bat of choice for hitting with short pips on the FH, and chopping away from the table on the BH.

@mengcan1985: What setup do you currently play with?
