This is a thread to discuss and/or simply marvel at innovations in non-traditional blade design. If you run into an unusual blade style, post it here. The first one is the TIBHAR P. Chila Swing (this is how the Nittaku Violin should have been shaped). Super light OFF/ALL blade of Patrick Chila in a patented bat shape enabling disturbing vibrations after the ball contact to be stabilised right away. The blade is lighter, faster and with dream-like ball control. |

Nittaku Tenaly The origin of the word Tenaly means “it becomes the hand”. This handle is designed ergonomically to make the blade an extension of the player, for the most natural angle of wrist, hand, and forearm to the head of the blade. The curve of the handle to one side is very comfortable and effective for the penhold grip as well as the shakehands grip. This 5-ply all-wood blade is great for the offensive player and quick allround player. |

LKT Toxic 3 Available at OOAK and Zeropong. The traditional "Shovel Head" design has fallen so much out of use, that this blade design could be considered unusual for modern table tennis blades. |

The short-lived Re-Impact Merlin "This special blade has a new shape which relieves the arm and shoulder joints and makes it easier to make an active movement to the ball. The new blade offers a clear plus in controlling spin - for all around players." |

This one is the winner for unusual blades, although not commercially available (yet). It's called the "Joe T. Ching" blade. See how it's used: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 919462062# (Sorry I couldn't get the file to embed. You'll have to watch it on Google.) |
