I'm tempted to try out carbon blades but I knew it would feel very different to 5-ply like Galaxy W-6(I think it is soft). Is there any carbon blade with 'woody' feel so I can adapt easily (relatively) ?

Yinhe, W-1. About Off. Not a hard feel like some carbons. Lots of power but I can still brush loop with it. Not sure how much speed you are looking for. :)

Well, I'm expecting something harder, faster than W-6 and easier to flat hit. Not going for Off+ blade :P

I have tried ML soft carbon and Wavestone. Both are good blades: have good control and feels like OFF- to me.
But I still personally like all wood better.

You could also try the Ma Lin Carbon... has good feel for a carbon blade.

I have been using this blade about a year, it is my favorite. fh- yasaka rakza soft 2.0 bh- xiying 0x . I have used 5 ply wood mostly but I like the speed of this blade and the ability to play control. I like to flip the paddle often. I want to buy a second blade as backup but the $69 usd price stops me.

That's a great forum story/result. Thanks for coming back to tell about it Kev.

That's the Juic Iseki Carbon in your signature, right?

Although I can't comment on the performance too much as I've only had a brief hit with one, I think it's one of the best looking blades on the market, which is much more important than how it plays  Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Stigas Carboando blades can be a good alternative, fast but still good control.

Butterfly used to sell a carbon blade with the carbon buried deep in the blade closer to the center (I think it was named "Gergely", though the famous classic Gergely had no carbon in it). They said it was to moderate the effect of the carbon, to make the blade play more like a wood blade, not feeling so hard. Might be the thing to look for (as well as those blades with "thin carbon" layers). I'm wondering if any blade makers use the very lightweight carbon veil/tissue - I've tried using it myself, can't remember exactly what happened (my blades were all pretty fast).

Now they have a blade series called "Innerforce". ;)

Yeah, that was definitely the precursor to the Innerforce blades.
