Yes, same woods, but the violin has a bit thinner core and is glued with hot hide glue.

Since it is not homogeneous throughout the surface, I think the blade will react differently if it hits the ball at different spots. Is my assumption correct ?

It's been a while since this thread was update so feels right that I should be posting my new blade from Ross that I received yesterday.

I'm sure you'll agree that it's stunning and the craftsmanship from Ross never fails to amaze!

The logo with initials were all individually cut out and glued into place then sanded smooth. Following the process was incredible and amazing to see the blade come together.

Not only does it look great but it plays great as well! The construction is 2 layers of white ash with a kiri core. The handle is dyed maple burl.

I'm so happy to have this blade in my collection and a massive thank you to Ross!
