Thanks Peter. Do you know what the cut down Deplay weighed approx.

I find a cut down TSP balsa 3.5 with Vega euro plenty fast enough and the slow blade allows for more spin and pace variation.

A cut down Defplay will be heavier than a cut down 3.5,one of my Defplays went from 87g to 82g standard head size, the 3.5 is a bit harder feel and has a slightly faster f/h ,I didn`t like the balsa effect which can be sometimes unpredictable.Currently using black balsa 3.0 because the control with the ox lp is the best I have found, and with thinner sponged f/h rubbers the high throw angle and balsa effect is tamed,I tried a slice 40 1.5 boosted in this weeks league match and it went ok but will try boosted 1.7 T05 to get more spin and kick when serving tomahawks, and to raise the topspin arc

the defplay from Japsican with the flared handle is definitely thicker than my old model. It plays the same though.
i came across a defender at another club and he has a defplay with a thicker handle.if my defplay breaks i will remove the handle and stick it on japsicans blade :D

Lol, what's with the duplicates in one post?
Anyways, both are fine; P1-R is harder to control though, and makes less spin on it's own; however, it's potential is higher than FL3 for spin
FL3 is very good at making it's own spin, but it tops out. It's very slow, soft, and dampening; P1-R has a hard sponge

Mark v is perfect for the f/h-amazing control and plenty of power-still slow by modern standards but great control. Also low throw angle.
Best anti in 1.8 is a very good match aswell.nasty chops away from the table and blocks hard loops off the bounce.
