No, it's not a new idea at all.
For blades still manufactured, Nittaku have their Tenaly and Yasaka still makes a Saw blade. There are plenty before these.

It looks really cool, here is a pic for anyone that might not have seen it:

It would not suit me since you can't twiddle it... and I twiddle a lot for my BH serves...

What a cool looking blade 8)

but from that photo is that for a right or left hander, and the handle is made from wood not like the dotec that you have in store

They work eqully well for both left and right handers. I'm left handed, and my father (who I bought one for- and who loves it) is right handed.

Twiddling during a point would require skill, but if you pre-twiddle and serve, twiddling back to standard position is quite easy because gravity helps. (ie in opposite position the centre of gravity is very high, and with a slight twist the blade just falls back into your hand the correct way.)

Unless one side is faster or slower, the blade can be used for LH or RH.

It is almost saying that a certain pipe wrench is a RH or LH pipe wrench...

I have one it's fast and nice but you can't do pendulum serves with it so that's why I don't use it.

I guess you mean coz you can't change the grip easily? I would have though it could work quite well, especially for reverse pendulum...

Looks like this could be a pretty heavy blade, if they come at 85 or lower, I would like to try one.
With penholder I liked it that the blade is more "below" the hand (hope you know what I mean), which seems to be the idea of this frame.
