Dear All,
More than 10 years (with intervals) I have been using Re-impact F4MD Spezial with variety of inverted rubbers. For about 6 months I have been using Stinga İnnova Ultra Light 1.8 mm on my forehand and Nittaku Hammond Pro Alpha 1.7mm on my backhand. I bought these rubbers after correspondence with Achim. So far I was mainly chopping or blocking with my backhand. But I want to improve my backhand and practice more flips and spins with my backhand. Meanwhile for the last couple of weeks I tried Xiom Vega Europe rubbers on Butterfuly Grubba All around blade. I liked the feeling and think this combination improved my game. But I want to switch back to Re-impact so can you make any suggestions to have a similar game style I experience with Buttferfly and Xiom combinations?

Hi everyone.
I've not posted for a while. I have got a Re- impact Swift 66 blade with Tibhar Evolution ELS 2.1mm on the forehand and Hellfire ox on the backhand.
The forehand is great for blocking, looping , driving and spin serves. The backhand is ok for blocking and chopping away from the table. Spin reversal could be better but it's ok and i have being playing this combination for 2 seasons. I bought a Re-impact Turbo blade last year i put the same rubbers on it. The forehand is good for driving, blocking and spin serving. The problem is I cannot loop with it at all. Looping is a big part of my game. The backhand is fantastic so slow great for blocking and chopping away from the table. If i could have the Swift 66 forehand on the Turbo it would be perfect. Any advice to help with the rubber choice on the Turbo forehand. ?

It would help if you could indicate what the problem is with the looping. But generally, this kind of problem is best solved by trying a cheap tacky inverted rubber with moderate or low catapult and see if that helps. For instance Friendship super FX in 2.0 mm; or if you want a faster rubber, Friendship Focus 1. If the problem goes away or decreases, high catapult is the problem. In most cases, it is. Another way to tackle this is getting the same Tibhar rubber in 1.8 mm and see if that helps; it frquently does, but if it does not, you have spent in vain four times as much as you would have on the Friendship rubber...

I am not always convinced of using low catapult surfaces like Friendship. There is then a danger that the surfaces will react too dead from the point of view of the ball control.
A bad cut does not always depend on the ball technique used, but also on the used ABSBall, which can be without cut in certain phases of the game.

or with increasing ball contact and hitting the ball, suddenly less cutting takes place.

But hen using a racquet rich in catapults, it makes sense to use a low catapult rubber such e.g. as the Friendship.

Thankyou for your reply and the advice. On the Swift 66 my loop is very strong and loaded with topspin it is very easy to lift a copped ball . With the Turbo the effort to lift the ball is very hard. I will try a thinner sponge and see how I go.

It may be worth a try, but actually I don't think a thinner sponge will do it, as the difference in catapult is probably not big enough. Perhaps try a really low catapult rubber. Even then it will be hard to loop descending balls, I'm afraid. The problem, judging from your description of it, is most likely the design (in particular the cork ply between the balsa plies), much more than the rubber, here. Alternatively, try and stay closer to the table and loop only ascending balls... But if that isn't your style, it won't work, of course. Another option is to loop with much less forward speed and concentrate on the spin only; that works most of the time. You won't be able to attack with speed from mid-distance, but varying the spin can be as effective.

Hi, I somehow got this blade, Re-impact return.

It seems that's a defensive blade, made of thick balsa core, but i didn't found any information about it.
