Hi!
Could you tell me what is the between materials defence alpfa and defence II?
As I know there is one difference in size:defence II is little bit smaller. Is it true?

Hi Sirius,

I've got both blades in my collection, but I haven't tried the Defence Alpha. Both blades are discontinued.

What I can say:

- Defence Alpha is 160x168, so largely oversized, while Defence II is 155x165
- Shape of the head is different
- Defence Alpha has almost 7mm thickness, while Defence II 6mm
- Both blades have three plies of willow on the top, five plies in the handle and lower part of the blade head
- Both have more or less same weight, around 95g

I think Defence II is a fast defensive blade (like JSH) and from what I read Defence Alpha is slower (maybe because of the larger head?). Defence Alpha is used by some Ukrainian/Russian female choppers.

So they are almost same blades exept form of head and thickness. The main thing is that plies and material have no difference
