I have ordered a GTX rubber, just for interest. I live in hope that one of these H3 National lookalikes will perform.

Don't know when I will get around to trying it out, especially as the league season is just getting under way, but I will post at some point.

{edit} I am quite attracted to the Mars1 blade.... Looks like an inner ALC.

I think the blade comes free with the case...
Almost looks worth it.

It does have that Asgardian vibe to it...

I am actually quite tempted to try one of their tacky semi-tacky rubbers, or "sticky" as they prefer to call it. And the blades are quite good looking. The name Loki is quite catchy as well. If they become popular they will not be the first Chinese company to start producing quality table tennis equipment at an affordable price.

The three RXTONs aren't in the LARC yet, N80, GTX and T3 are. GTX and T3 are "sticky", T3 has the blue sponge and is expensive ($30+). Also has "very hard" sponge (45 degrees). RXTON3 and 5 are the "sticky" ones, 3 has "hard" (45) sponge, 5 has "very hard" (49!) sponge.

My sheet of GTX black arrived just now. Ordered on the 17th, so pretty good delivery. It actually arrived at LHR on the 21st, most suppliers haven't shipped within that time.

I am just about to leave for my Senior Citizens "Bat and Chat" at the Castle mall, so no time to do much. I will say that it looks very classy, even has a Wang Hao signature in the logo area, but in a place that will be cut off when fixed to a blade. Weighs 70g with the protective sheet still on. This sheet appears to be much more substantial than the flimsy one on H3, like a sticky sheet that you buy for non-tacky rubbers.

Not a sealed packet, but a very strong smell, could be just rubber.

70 grams does seem a little heavy, unless it's an oversized sheet (like the Tibhar Evolution sheets) or has an unusually thick protector sheet on it. Not as heavy as that one sheet of Haifu Whale I had (77 grams) or that one sheet of Dawei 2008XL (76g) though.

66g without the protection sheet. Not particularly oversized. Good news, the protector sheet can be reused.

Some rubbers come with awfully thick protector sheets. In particular 999T. 4g in a protector sheet - hmmm.

The sheet can be reused quite easily. Compare with an H3 sheet.

Also you get some idea of the size, as it just fits a Joo SaeHyuk blade.

I should get to try it tonight at local social practice, so nothing serious. It seems quite "Sticky" (although not brown or wooden  ), but feels to the touch a lot softer than an H3. Most like a tacky AK47 Blue, just first impression. As I have it on the JSH, I'll have to do some mental gymnastics to imagine how it would play on my normal DHS H301. Just bouncing a ball on it doesn't remind me of anything much. If I get on with it on the JSH, I might try it on a more attacking blade. Nice spin generation though. And it does inspire confidence in manufacturing quality.

I have done the rookie thing of putting it on an unfamiliar blade that I've only used a few times, and never in anger. However, there was a reason; because the Joo is the largest blade I own, the rubber can be easily transferred to something else.

OK, got in about an hour of practice with GTX this evening. Bottom line: I am going to try it on one of my H301 blades. Caveat: I am going through a period where I seem to have forgotten how to play, so suffering a bit of a loss of confidence.

It plays very well, like an easy H3. By which I mean it has similar spin, similar "throw", similar speed etc. But maybe a little easier to play, probably because it is certainly softer out of the box than H3. It doesn't feel dead at all. But it doesn't have the outright top end performance that a good H3 (Provincial/National) has. Of the Chinese contenders to the H3 throne, like Battle 2 and AK47, I'd say that this is the most likely to succeed. Remember, straight out of the packet, unboosted, not worn in, on an unfamiliar blade. It doesn't seem to want boosting either.

One thing: although it is stated to be 2.2 mm thick sponge, I would think that it was more like 2.0 from looking at in comparison to H3 2.15.

As it is the beginning of the season (we won our first match 8-2), I am not going to be playing seriously with this combination. I feel it may go very well on an H301, or even a Viscaria for a little extra kick (it's nothing like a Tenergy), so may try to get a little practice in with those combos over the next few weeks. But I am going to be concentrating on my number 1 H301/H3NatBS/MXS bat for matches. If my signature changes, take that as a hint.

The plastic tray looks tacky. I hope this does not become a trend.
