Can't seem to find it anywhere other than TT-Japan though. The price seems decent, less than 1,000 Japanese yen more expensive than the VKMO. But, do you think it's worth it?

Both of my VKMOs are around 90-91g .. On the other hand JSH is ~99g.
I personally wouldn't say that one is "slightly" slower than the other. IMHO if 10 is a fast carbon blade, I would say VKMO is a 5 and JSH is easily a 7-8.

To me the choice between the two is quite simple: if one wants to FH chop - I would definitely recommend VKMO... and for all Ruwen Filus and Gionis-like defenders out there would probably be better off with JSH.

Eric got one... we tested it yesterday and I could compare it to my VKMO.

I played with two VKMO... ST 84g and now FL 77g. They play quite similar with maybe more flex for the lighter one.
Eric's Yuto is 90g.

The feel of the YM and the VKMO are totally different to me.
YM was slightly thicker, it's quite hard and stiff but not like the VKMO.
That YM reminded me way more of the JSH... only lighter!
More beefy feel than the VKMO and faster too.

The blade was tested with Rasanter V42 2.0mm and Grass DT 0.5.

If the top layers are white mahogany, I don't think the middle ones are similar to the ones on the VKMO.

Eric can answer more questions... the first VKMO I tested is actually his so he knows them both.

Very good by the way. Base feeling is stiff and supportive but there is flex in there when you want it. Controllable for me, good weight range (~90g), beefy feel and nice balance of all features within that class. Probably the best modern defense blade I've tried yet personally. Recommended for people who are legitimately ready to handle something like a JSH but realize that 100g is insanity.

Right on.
In feel, it's closer to the JSH than the VKMO.
ST handle of the Yuto is decent but not as thick as the JSH.
Like Eric said, it's a great choice for those who want the power of the JSH without the weight.
It's also not as stiff and therefore more flexible than the JSH.

Yes, it is certainly more flexible than I gave it credit for originally; significantly more so than a JSH which I tried a little bit more today. Different blades for sure - JSH is stiffer and perhaps more stable, but Yuto is still alright on those fronts and overall well balanced in all qualities. Another 2k+ chopper here that has both finds JSH (mainly FL2, some P1R) to be easier to chop with than Yuto. I (mostly D.Tecs thus far) am still happy with my Yuto -- that magic 90g JSH is never going to appear so whatever, I'm set. P.S. I have seen a couple really light (79-80g) Yutos so be careful to ask about weight in stock and pick accordingly if that matters to you.

Definitely more flexible but also way softer.
That's what I don't like too much about the Yuto... that softness doesn't give a great feedback.
Almost no vibrations, every impact feels muffled and I got to test it with tensors and H3Neo.
It doesn't feel like a defensive blade to me but it works for few guys here so that's good.
Eric plays very well with it and he tested everything on the market :lol:

Comparing the JSH to the Yuto, the Yuto is a definite step slower too.... which is good if you find the JSH too fast. ;)

Closer to the VKMO, but slower and not as hard/stiff. The yuto is not a flimsy blade by any means, just slower than the other 2.

Feel wise, the Yuto reminds me more of the JSH than the VKMO but in speed it is similar to the VKMO.
The VKMO is just so hard and stiff.
The Yuto feels softer to me.
Just my opinion...
