I've noticed that the Yasaka Gatien name has been dropped from the Yasaka range. Are the blades like Yasaka 'Extra 3D' the same as 'Gatien Extra 3D'?

Not only that, a few more Sweden's are appearing.

Yasaka Gatien Extra> Yasaka Extra > Yasaka Sweden Extra

Haggisv, I noticed you have the Extra 3D in your shop, I've not noticed it before.

Do you know how it plays and what type of player it would suit. I've seen the 3D things means the blade has some grooves near the handle, is this just a gimmick to sell more blades?

Yes we got it in the shop only recently. I've not tried it yet, so I've been looking for reviews, which brought me to this question, as I can find some reviews for the Gatien model, and I wasn't sure if it applied to the Extra 3D.
I suspect the grooves will give the blade a slightly different feeling as it probably changes the vibrations... some people might like this, some may not.

Are you getting the Sweden Extra? Pretty popular blade, surprised you haven't got it considering some of the others you have.

I wasn't familiar with that one, tanks for the tip. Yes we'll get that in as well, planning to stock a lot more Yasaka blades.

Are these like the Re-Impact grooves?

No, these grooves are visible just above the handle and are cuts in the main part of the blade, the re_impact ones are within the handle (although still on the 'blade part' not on the handle pieces.
