I'v tried several blades and some combinations are louder with the same rubbers attached.
The Joola greenline medium was the most silent. How is this possible?

It's related to the hardness and vibrations of the blade.. complicated stuff to try and predict the sound.

There is a blade which produces same musical note to each hit no matter how the ball is played. its a 729 f3 blade. Its like a one note glockenspiel. The 729 description on their website also refers to the "melodious tone" and its true.

Only available from this store in penhold, though.. Wonder what the face plies are, that's some nicely figured wood. Maybe maple, which might be why it rings.

Actually, the description should hold true to all blade.

If the audible note are different when the ball impact different site of blade face, that means something wrong with that blade.

I wonder what "dough" signifies, or "birch bark"... Spruce is used for instrument soundboards. With some woods (esp. balsa) you get that figure when the wood is cut radial to the log (quarter-sawn). In others (softwoods, with prominent growth rings - hinoki, spruce) you don't, you get closely set straight lines instead.
