I am thinking about buying a clipper just because I keep hearing how crispy it feels when it's used with long pip for chop blocking and the sound it self is very high pitched.
So I was wondering if it's possible to chop with this racket consistently if I don't use ox and use 0.5 long pip sponge like a feint long 2 instead? And is it possible to chop with a soft sponge rubber on the forehand side - like a juic999?

If not, does anyone else know a racket that's very crispy feeling and high pitch and can be used to chop with?

Crispiness is usually the result of hardness which comes with it a certain level of speed. I don't think clipper is good for chopping. Have a browse on the stervinou site for hardwood outer but cork (or similar dampening material) cores.

Besides, I don't find clipper all that crispy. ZLC's on the other hand...but even faster!

If you want to get a "clipper" but don't want to spend a fortune get the HRT version. Oh wait.. those aren't available any more! Not on AliExpress, in any case...

I believe Fabian Åkerström in Sweden’s highest league uses a Clipper for chopping with Dornenglanz ox.

You can chop with any blade. I have using inverted rubber. Is a fast blade ideal for chopping? No, probably not, but it can be done. I took lessons with Gao Jun years back and she sold me a Butterfly Viscaria blade and put Hurricane rubber on it. She really could do anything with the set up when she showed me how.

I use an allround blade now, and it pretty good for what I need.

I think the Friendship L-5 HaoShuai comes pretty close. Haven't tried side by side with identical rubbers, but it does feel (and look) similar - and too fast for me

Back in the day we were told that we need to learn every stroke. We never got proper tuition but learned from books (!) and watching the top players' training sessions. Regardless of whether you had an "allround" setup (like mine), "ultra fast" like a few of my friends', or "dead" like one of the high profile players in the club used, and you had a preferred style you were told to practice all the basic strokes for closeup, midrange and distance playing.
