In the OFF- range? I've been trying to resist ordering a Virtuoso but my resolve is weakening.
Probably in head size s (157 x 150)

Not sure. In looking at all the blades I've wanted in the last few years:-
Yasaka Sweden Classic - is the same speed and plies as my Appelgren so is virtually the same blade so no point.
Stiga Allround Evolution - used to have one in ST but sold it, would like an AN version but could be same as above. Doing research.
Donic Waldner Senso Carbon - an option.

I would like a slightly faster blade than my others, something in OFF- but thinking might turn to Chinese for this and perhaps get Sanwei M8, Yinhe 896 or something else cheap.

I think sometimes the fun is in the looking, not the playing.

The M8's better than the 896, for sure. And cheaper, to boot.

(Made me wonder where "to boot" came from, came up with: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estovers Not sure what the connection is but it's there in the footnotes..)

What makes the M8 better? I like the feel of the 896 handle in fact all the Yinhe stuff is comfortable that I've tried ie N11, T11.

I guess I have to agree with that since I probably spend more time here and on other sites reading reviews etc than actually playing the game.

Nature of the vibrations, I think. I didn't like the 896, vibrated too much (I've seen one or two others post the same observation about it). The M8 handle IS small, if you like bigger handles probably grip tape (or 2-3 layers of that kinesiology tape) would help. It does seem about the right size for me, though, even more so after I watched that EmRatThich video on how to hold the racket properly.

So the M8 is "better for sure" for cobalt, because you don't like the vibrations in the 896?

I've tried the 896 myself, thought it was a great looping blades, and didn't notice any unusual vibration at all. Might be different rubbers of course, or just one slightly different materials, as I'm sure there are variations.
